What We Stand For

The FCR Patch - We strive to represent Christ.

The symbol of the shield on which the rest of the FCR colors are built, represents God the Father on whom our faith is built. “He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice, and preserving the way of His godly ones.” (Proverbs 2:7-8)

The cross is the universal symbol of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whose horrible and unjust death on the cross made possible the forgiveness of our sins. It is his resurrection after dying on that cross that gives each of us hope for eternal life. “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.” (Hebrews 9:27-28)

The flame represents the Christian unity that we have through the presence of the Holy Ghost in our lives. ”And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:1-4)

The sword represents our belief in the importance of studying and applying the Bible, the Word of God, in every aspect of our daily lives. “And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.” (Ephesians 6:17)

The colors used in our logo are purple, representing the royal nature of our King of Kings; gold and platinum representing that we value our Christian beliefs more than any earthly rewards with which we might be blessed; and red, representing the blood of Jesus Christ that was spilled so that we might have the opportunity of eternal life in heaven.

Christ has many services to be done. Some are easy, others are difficult. Some bring honour, others bring reproach. Some are suitable to our natural inclinations and temporal interests, others are contrary to both… Yet the power to do all these things is given to us in Christ, who strengthens us.

I am no longer my own, but yours. Put me to what you will, rank me with whom you will; put me to doing, put me to suffering; let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you, exalted for you, or brought low for you; let me be full, let me be empty, let me have all things, let me have nothing: I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal. And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, you are mine and I am yours. So be it. And the covenant now made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.
